Demons is a song recorded in 2011 for Imagine Dragon's debut album "Night Visions". It became the second top 10 song from the band in the Billboard Hot 100, only after "Radioactive".

The song talks about depression and inner demons that we all carry with us. This can also be interpreted as a critique of society and an ode to never lose hope.

The first verse talks about having bad days and losing all that you've been fighting for. That includes being betrayed by the ones you loved and failing in all your dreams and ambitions.

In the pre-chorus, Dan, the singer, is trying to protect someone from some truths that could hurt him, but he is aware that he also could do it.

In the chorus, he explains that if you look into his eyes, that are the windows to the soul, you will see all the bad things that are in his life. He wants you to get away from him, so they won't affect you.

The second verse is focused on the moment when the singer stops trying to look good and happy and is shown to the other person how he really feels.

In the next pre-chorus, Dan says that he doesn't want to disappoint anyone, so he tries to appear that everything is fine but inside he is suffering and needing for help.

Finally, in the bridge, the singer explains that the person that he is talking with may be one of the few people that is not greedy or ambitious, so he ask for that person to stay away because he doesn't want to hurt him or her.
